Position Summary: The System Director, Financial Reporting and Accounting is responsible for the operational leadership, administrative oversight, and systemwide coordination of all external financial reporting, general accounting, accounts payable, payroll, financial planning and forecasting, and statistical gathering and reporting functions across UCI Health. The incumbent is accountable for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial operations and reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, FQHC and hospital reporting requirements, and all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, including GAAP, FASB, HRSA, and OSHPD reporting requirements. This role maintains accountability for the development and maintenance of accounting systems to safeguard UCI Healt assets, ensure accurate financial information, and support the achievement of organizational financial goals across all assigned functions. The System Director provides direct oversight and is responsible for the selection, onboarding, competency validation, performance evaluation, and professional development of all assigned coworkers. This position serves on UCI Health committees and work teams to develop and implement financial policies and procedures, ensures that year-end audits by public accounting firms and third-party auditors are conducted smoothly and in a timely manner, and prepares financial reports for use by executive and senior leadership. This position exercises wide latitude of authority in determining departmental goals and measures to achieve systemwide financial reporting and accounting objectives with limited oversight.
