Job Description Position Summary: Translate our needs into long-term architecture solutions through the design, creation, deployment and support of the enterprise-wide Configuration platform. A Configuration System Architect designs, oversees, and maintains complex IT systems, ensuring hardware, software, and networks align with our goals. Main responsibilities are creating blueprints, defining technical standards, and guiding implementation for scalability, security, and performance, collaborating across teams to balance technical needs with strategic goals. Other responsibilities include analyzing requirements, designing integrated solutions, documenting architecture, troubleshooting, and advising on latest technologies. The architect helps build a holistic view and roadmap of our technology strategy and processes. The architect partners with business and technology groups to ensure agreement of technology solutions with our strategic goals. This position is located in either Milwaukee, WI or Mayfield Heights, OH - hybrid. You will report to the Technical Leader – ETO Selling Configuration

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Typically requires 5+ years of relevant architectural experience
  • Degree in computer science or management information systems
  • Experience building strategic technology plans and roadmaps
  • Experience designing modern, public-facing solutions consumed by multiple teams
  • Experience designing cloud-based solutions
  • A desire for learning, investigation, and understanding and the ability to question solution partners across teams
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application and systems engineering
  • Knowledge of architectural design frameworks, integration frameworks and patterns

  • Experience with business complexity and project interdependence.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with IT and business leaders to act as an advisor to strategic planning efforts in consideration of organizational priority and vision.
  • Partner with business and technology subject-matter experts to elicit and translate our requirements into technological solutions.
  • Design high-level, foundational structures, balancing technical constraints with our goals.
  • Document and justify important decisions early in the development lifecycle.
  • Assess the current IT environment and develop a future state IT architecture in partnership with Enterprise Architecture.
  • Guide technology selection, develop architectural artifacts in partnership with lead engineer and dev team(s) and ensure compliance with security, identity and access management, Enterprise Architecture.
  • Develop guidelines to ensure that a technological framework is applied across the company, maintain awareness and visibility of organizational best practices.
  • Promote the use of a shared infrastructure and application roadmap to reduce costs and improve information flow.
  • Introduce and accelerate new technologies and methodologies to support digital transformation.
  • Work with multiple partners and influence project decisions.
  • Work with other solution architects to provide secure, scalable architectural solutions.
  • Provide cross-product/cross-technology expertise to capability teams.
  • Support the design and modeling of tactical architectures to develop projects.
  • Support the design and management of reference architecture.
  • Contribute to and evaluate solution design and consult during release planning.
  • Engage with the business and teams during brainstorming and design.
  • Demonstrated experience define and maintain automated practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with business process and performance modeling, benchmarking and financial analysis.
