SUMMARY: The Systems Analyst fills an important role within the Information Technology Department by taking on individual projects and providing technical support to the rest of the IT team. This role reports to the Director of Information Technology and works with all levels of staff throughout the agency. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Be technically familiar with the EMR, HRIS, and reporting systems · Manage projects outside the standard IT systems · Help explore and develop ways to expand the capabilities of all IT systems. · Evaluate system feedback and suggest changes to the user experience with the systems · Works to continually improve information technology services for users. · Backup support and contact for “super-users” group · Secondary knowledge source for the IT support staff for all EMR and reporting related topics · Assists in meeting data reporting criteria of the Vermont Department of Developmental and Mental Health Services · Provides troubleshooting for individual users. · Provide data reporting for agency on support issues · Assist in acceptance testing and document any new problems of challenges with EMR updates KEY RELATIONSHIPS: · Reports directly to the Information Technology Director · The Systems Analyst frequently interacts with the executive level management, all members of the senior management team, the HR team, coordinators and supervisors, and all other employees. This position is focused on customer service and satisfaction. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience and training in software development or systems analysis. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to listen effectively. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective presentations to senior management and groups of employees. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to understand complex statistical operations used in data collection and reporting, research and quality management. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with non-verbal symbolism (formulae, scientific equations, graphs, etc.). Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: A valid driver’s license or the ability to travel quickly from location to location. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Experience in informatics or business analysis, highly preferred. Experience with the State of Vermont’s reporting processes also a plus. Specific knowledge of Windows, Windows server operating systems, networks and PCs.
