Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is looking to add to our IT team and has an opportunity for a System Administrator. This position will operate as part of the IT Business Operations Management team to support the current and future operational needs of BCBSKS. This role will handle configuration and deployment tasks for the BCBSKS Digital.AI Release Orchestration tool, as well as provide day-to-day support and system support for current and future Release tool platforms. The System Administrator will support the IT Business Operations Management team by maintaining and enhancing enterprise systems, with a focus on ServiceNow, Release, and integrated platforms such as SBM and ChangeMan. This role ensures system reliability, security, and performance across business-critical applications and infrastructure. “This position is eligible to work remotely, hybrid or onsite in accordance with our Telecommuting Policy.   • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document requirements
  • Support integrations between Digital.AI Release and other enterprise platforms
  • Work with Digital.AI (DAI) and application development support teams to process support tickets regarding technical integrations, troubleshoot the issues with the customer and create workarounds and/or bug fixes within the Release tool.
  • Update customer support forums as necessary
  • Create and maintain documentation for the DAI solution
  • Configure and support integrations between DAI and other software solutions
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and resolutions
  • Adhere to established best practices and standard operating procedures
  • Provide guidance to users regarding how to utilize the DAI and Release tool platform
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • System Administrator: Minimum of five years' experience in I.T. and/or application development required.
  • Sr System Administrator: Minimum of eight years' experience in I.T. and/or application development required.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure architecture, including operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix), networks, storage, security, and disaster recovery.
  • Skilled in creating technical documentation, workflows, and procedures for new technologies and system changes.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve network connectivity and system issues across multiple platforms.
  • Proficient in implementing projects using project management practices and managing change/release processes.
  • Understanding of ITSM principles, governance frameworks, and industry architecture standards.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Selenium, or similar.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating infrastructure processes, conducting gap analysis and assessing business impact.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to work independently and in teams.
  • Ability and desire to quickly learn and apply new technologies and methods.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and ability to implement measures to protect systems and data.
  • Bachelor's degree or completion of a Computer Science Program from a Technical Trade School preferred.
  • Technical training with certification in assigned technology is required as applicable.
  • Demonstrated experience with managing assigned technology by performing regular and critical maintenance tasks within defined service levels preferred.
  • ITIL Foundation preferred
  • Experience with CI tooling (Jenkins / Gitlab/Github Actions/TFS) and build automation preferred.
  • Experience with newer technologies like Docker, Packer, Consul, Kubernetes, CoreOS, etc. preferred.
  • Experienced in Java and/or one of the scripting languages (Python preferred, Perl / Bash) preferred.
  • Previous CI/CD automation experience would be a plus.
