About The Position

Harrison Steel Castings Co. has an opening for a System Administrator within the Information Technology department. Responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, installing, and supporting Harrison Steel's computer systems, this position will design and install LANs, WANs, intranet systems, and network segments. In collaboration with other IT team members, they will provide input and support in the development, revision, and implementation of the IT Department's strategic and departmental goals to offer excellent customer service to Harrison Steel. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience or certifications with Microsoft Windows operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policies, and TCP/IP networking required.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, configures, and upgrades software and hardware
  • Analyzes, troubleshoots, and isolates network issues and outages
  • Monitors and maintains system performance
  • Identifies network needs and seeks solutions
  • Maintains and secures the network, servers, and system
  • Manages the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems
  • Assists in the administration and management of Windows Server environment including Hyper-V
  • Collaborates with the IT Director and other members of the IT staff to ensure efficient operation of the company's computing environment
  • Responds to, resolves, and performs moves, adds, and change requests as they are submitted as submitted through the help desk
  • Creates and maintains documentation and inventory as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, service records, network hardware, and any other computer equipment.
  • Accurately and timely documents instances of network and desktop equipment or component failure, repair, installation, and removal.
