About The Position

Are you ready to unlock your true potential? The System Administrator has primary responsibility for guiding the overall operation and configuration of the customer-facing software environment including performing day-to-day administration and maintenance. This position will also work with a team of IT professionals responsible for the maintenance, growth, and security of our production environment and supporting non-production environments. This position is also responsible for handling escalated issues and projects and driving forward thinking approach to the systems architecture. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. At this time, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this role.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting software systems including Linux OS, Microsoft Server 2019 or newer
  • 3+ years’ experience configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting SQL Server.
  • Experience managing, configuring, and supporting Hypervisor solutions (VMWare, Hyper-V, ProxMox, etc.)
  • Experience with Web Application Servers using Apache, Nginx, IIS, Tomcat, WebLogic, or JBoss.
  • Experience with Active Directory.
  • Strong understanding of file transfer protocols, FTP, sFTP, AS2, etc.
  • Strong understanding of communication protocols, internet/network security and authentication.
  • Work independently with limited supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate ideas during ad-hoc design or troubleshooting sessions, presentations, and in written form to a range of audiences with wide ranges of technical knowledge and ability.
  • Willingness to dedicate extra effort beyond normal work hours

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Cisco / F5 networking equipment
  • Knowledge and experience with Check Point firewalls
  • Scripting experience in Perl or Python
  • Experience with SoftwareAG webMethods software
  • AIX experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced server system administration to include design, configuration, and domain and policy design.
  • Manage ACLs, User IDs, Groups, SSLs and other daily administration and security functions.
  • Monitor system and network performance.
  • Create and maintain documentation on existing systems and processes.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce company security policies within the system environment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot software and networking performance problems.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement specific tools that may deal with systems monitoring, management, and automated deployment.
  • Install system software, coordinate local and remote server connectivity, and solve more advanced user or customer related problems as necessary.
  • Lead team efforts to establish, document, and implement software installation standards for all systems.
  • Lead initiatives to ensure the current software environments are well documented and mapped.
  • Support implementation of disaster recovery processes and business continuity activities.
  • Provide on-call technical support during non-business hours as required.
  • Determine priority of action based on severity of service disruptions and respond appropriately.
  • Implement projects to improve the system environments.
  • Execute on other assignments as directed.
