About The Position

As a System Administrator of our Digital Engineering Cloud - DEC®, you will be the administrative backbone of our Code Foundry ecosystem. You will design, deploy, and maintain secure cloud instances and networks to support Digital Engineering and DevSecOps workflows. You will collaborate with platform engineers, developers, and security teams to ensure robust, compliant, and scalable infrastructure.

Requirements

• CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent.
• Hands-on AWS administration (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFormation).
• Manage, Configure and Troubleshooting Information Systems
• Linux/Windows Server Administration
• Knowledge with Active Directory Users and Computers Management
• Provide maintenance, upgrade and repairs of Information Systems
• Execute and verify data redundancy and system recovery procedures to protect against data loss or system failure
• System patching and compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards.
• Network engineering in cloud environments (routing, firewalls, VPN).

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket).
• Scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins).
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator.
• CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Cloud Deployment & Network Configuration:
• Provision and configure instances, virtual networks, and security groups.
• Design and implement secure network architectures (subnets, routing, NACLs, VPN, Direct Connect).
• Apply DoD STIGs and security baselines for cloud resources.
• System Administration & Patching:
• Install and configure applications on hosted systems.
• Perform OS patching and updates in compliance with DoD cybersecurity procedures.
• Monitor system health and performance using observability tools.
• Security & Compliance:
• Enforce role-based access control and implement encryption, logging, and auditing per DoD and NIST standards.
• Support vulnerability scanning and remediation activities.
• DevSecOps Integration:
• Collaborate with CI/CD teams to ensure network readiness for automated deployments.
• Support hosted toolsets (Atlassian Suite, GitLab) for platform operations.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:
• Maintain detailed runbooks and configuration documentation.
• Contribute to internal knowledge bases and training materials.
