About The Position

Cimarron is seeking a System Administrator to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs, CO area. This is a second shift (1400–2200) position and will require candidates to have the flexibility to support off-hour mission activities as needed. Key Duties: Build, configure, deploy, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot both virtual and physical servers and systems. Ensure all system changes align with developer documentation, configuration management procedures, and documentation standards. Plan, develop, and execute work plans that support critical-path requirements. Conduct physical inspections and analyze system/event logs using appropriate tools to identify issues, trends, and assist in troubleshooting. Provide timely status updates to team leads, managers, and stakeholders regarding task progress and troubleshooting activities. Install, configure, and manage an on-premises Active Directory environment, including Group Policy Object (GPO) configuration and implementation. Collaborate with integration leads and managers in problem definition, analysis, requirement development, and implementation. Advise leadership and team members by providing technical recommendations for system improvements, optimization tools, process development, and support efforts. Utilize the REMEDY ticketing system to log, track, and document incidents and their resolutions.

Requirements

  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include, but is not limited to, testing for marijuana use.
  • This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire.   • Ability to work the second shift and overtime, as needed.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • 6 or more years of general, full-time work experience.
  • 4 or more years of directly related or directly relatable experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong proficiency with Windows operating systems and applications, including Windows Server 2022 and Windows 11.
  • In-depth knowledge of Active Directory (Users and Computers, Sites and Services), DNS, Group Policy, TCP/IP networking, and LDAP.
  • Experience implementing and managing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience building, configuring, and deploying servers and systems in a virtualized environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with software engineers, system engineers, and subject matter experts to resolve complex integration and technical challenges.
  • Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE).

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of troubleshooting methodologies and root cause analysis.
  • Experience performing security patching and software management using WSUS.
  • Hands-on experience with NetApp NAS storage solutions.
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell scripting for system administration and automation.
  • Thorough understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Department of Defense (DoD) communications systems, and MDIOC operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT or Engineering-related discipline.
