Requirements

  • Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role.
  • Proficiency in managing Windows and/or Linux server environments.
  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft 365 Admin portal.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols, Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)/Internet Protocol (IP), Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN), Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Firewalls, etc.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with VOIP platforms.
  • Experience with Cisco Meraki.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and data protection.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs. (some heavy lifting of equipment).

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and related hardware and software.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard company data and systems from potential threats.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights, ensuring data integrity and privacy.
  • Oversee system backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to deploy and maintain software applications and updates.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of IT projects, including system upgrades and migrations.
  • Provide technical support to end-users and resolve IT-related problems in a timely manner.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Stay up to date with industry's best practices and technologies to continually improve our IT infrastructure.
  • Make recommendations regarding purchasing hardware, software, system components.
  • Interact, meet, discuss, and troubleshoot issues with vendors; evaluate vendor products, services, and suggestions.
  • Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases.
  • Travel when needed to support remote clients (less than 5% of the time)
