System Administrator II
About The Position
Reflexive Concepts is seeking a System Administrator II to join our team! Specifically, we are looking for a System Administrator with Linux command-line administration experience, familiarity with Yum or equivalent patching repositories, and experience working within a cloud environment, as well as related technologies. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline 10 years’ experience as a SA in programs of similar scope, type, and complexity 5 years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree Duties and Reponsibilities: Create, and maintain RedHat Linux virtual machines running in a cloud infrastructure (Amazon AWS) Evaluate systems for IAVA compliance and applies necessary security updates/patches Perform command line system administration tasks on virtual machines Handle regular system backups and periodically tests backups for functionality Communicate with developers and DevOps team members to provide system administration support Apply patches and upgrades Troubleshoot server issues Administer customer accounts Deploy monitoring tools Deploy applications and tools Assist with escalated customer tickets Installation and cabling of equipment
Requirements
- Linux command line system administration (CentOS, RedHat, Amazon Linux, or equivalent)
- Experience applying system updates via yum or equivalent patching repository
- Experience working within a cloud environment a plus (Amazon AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud infrastructure with virtual machines)
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
- 10 years’ experience as a SA in programs of similar scope, type, and complexity
- 5 years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
Nice To Haves
- Experience or knowledge of RedSeal Network Mapping tool a plus
- Knowledge of software deployed on systems a plus but not required (Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, Nifi)
- Syslog/NxLog
- Nagios or other similar monitoring applications
- Scripting experience (Python/Perl)
Responsibilities
