About The Position

We are looking for a detailed-oriented System Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team. This role serves as the custodian of our data integrity and server reliability, specializing in the administration and optimization of enterprise backup platforms—primarily Veritas NetBackup and Veeam Backup & Replication. Beyond backups, you will manage our VMware virtual environment, support Windows/Linux systems, and ensure high availability across our core storage and network infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven, hands-on experience in enterprise-level System Administration (0+ years with relevant skills).
  • Strong, hands-on experience with Veritas NetBackup and Veeam Backup & Replication is essential.
  • Strong proficiency with VMware vSphere and vCenter.
  • Solid understanding of Windows Server and/or Linux system administration.
  • Experience with enterprise storage systems (e.g., Dell EMC, DataDomain).
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls).
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, excellent documentation habits, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize Veritas NetBackup and Veeam to ensure 100% data recoverability and compliance with backup retention policies.
  • Manage VMware vSphere/vCenter environments, handling virtual machine provisioning, performance tuning, and resource allocation.
  • Proactively identify, install, and maintain server hardware, storage systems (Dell EMC/DataDomain), and software to ensure continuous performance.
  • Act as the technical point of contact for complex hardware/software issues, diagnosing and resolving issues discovered through monitoring or user reports.
  • Analyze performance metrics to recommend, upgrade, and secure server-based systems.
  • Work collaboratively with technical teams, acting as a IT Business Partner to other business units, and delivering projects to improve infrastructure reliability.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for system configurations, processes, and disaster recovery procedures.
