About The Position

The System Administrator provides hands-on support for the implementation, operation, and maintenance of enterprise IT systems. This role is responsible for sustaining the reliability, security, and performance of client/server, storage, network, and mobile environments while delivering Tier 1 and Tier 2 user support. The administrator manages day-to-day system operations, troubleshoots complex issues, and ensures effective communication and escalation to agency leadership and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Ten (10) years of experience as a System Administrator supporting programs of similar scope, complexity, and mission criticality
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university; five (5) additional years of relevant System Administrator experience may be substituted for the degree
  • Experience supporting DevOps environments and cloud-based architectures, including AWS
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants.
  • DOD 8570 Certification
  • This position requires an active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, operate, and maintain IT systems supporting enterprise mission requirements
  • Manage daily configuration, monitoring, and operational activities for IT infrastructure and platforms
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support, including problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution
  • Support end users with access to systems, applications, and resources
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across client, server, storage, network, and mobile device environments
  • Escalate issues as required and communicate system status, risks, and resolution progress to agency management and internal customers
  • Provide in-depth technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for escalated incidents
  • Deliver detailed technical analysis and feedback for complex tickets and systemic issues
  • Support dispatch systems and hardware-related incidents through resolution
  • Configure, manage, and maintain UNIX and Windows operating systems
  • Install, configure, and patch operating system software and supporting components
  • Maintain system integrity and configure network components to support mission operations
  • Implement system and operating system enhancements to improve reliability, availability, and performance
  • Optimize system operations, conduct capacity analysis, and support resource planning efforts
