About The Position

The Switcher will be responsible for unloading and overseeing the testing of bulk raw materials at the plant. This will include but is not limited to Wood Flour, PVC pellets, truck and rail cars, and liquid lube.

Requirements

  • Must have a current Class A CDL
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Ability to exhibit professionalism, leadership, patience, diplomacy, high ethical standards, and a positive cooperative attitude.
  • Must be self-motivated with excellent time management skills
  • Have the ability to work with little or no direction at times with high attention to detail
  • Must exhibit a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Have the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Have the ability to climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during a 12 hour shift.
  • Have the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during a 12-hour shift.
  • Have the ability to kneel repetitive for a 12-hour shift.
  • Have the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for a 12-hour shift.
  • Have the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for a 12-hour shift.
  • Have the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant for a 12-hour shift.

Responsibilities

  • Perform unloading of trailers, railcars; including maneuvering tractor trailers around the yard
  • Monitor unloading process
  • Make all connections for bulk unloading
  • Spotting wood flour trailers in the truck unload bay
  • Spotting liquid lube trucks on the lube unload station
  • Verify available capacities in silos prior to unloading to prevent over filling
  • Maintain trailer and bulk material inventory
  • Maintain housekeeping in all unloading areas
  • Perform quality checks on incoming raw materials
  • Rejecting loads that are out of spec.
  • Trained to perform Mixing duties in the event the mixer is out of the Control Room
