About The Position

Murrey's Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is hiring a Swing Shift Diesel Mechanic in Fife, Washington. This role includes a $5,000 stay‑on bonus and offers competitive pay, consistent overtime, and excellent benefits. This position is ideal for experienced diesel mechanics and heavy truck technicians who want to grow their skills while working on a modern fleet of refuse trucks and maintaining yellow iron equipment at our transfer station. Requirements

• At least 1 year of diesel mechanic or heavy truck repair experience
• Personal tools required
• Valid driver's license
• CDL preferred (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

• Welding experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks and heavy equipment
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
• Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot issues
• Maintain and repair yellow iron equipment (loaders, compactors, etc.)
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure OSHA compliance
• Address issues from Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs)
• Maintain accurate records using fleet maintenance software
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Communicate effectively with drivers, supervisors, and team members
