Swimming Lessons Instructor
About The Position
Employee will work up to 3 hours each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday during June and July at Splash Central Waterpark. Employee will be able supervise and teach participants age 3 and over. Employee will be able to demonstrate and teach the fundamentals of swimming lessons. Qualifications Work is frequently performed in undesirable physical conditions of pollution, heat, cold, dampness, and a moderate to high noise level; duties involve supervising participants in swimming lessons. Must have Water Safety Instructor certification and up to date First Aid/CPR Training. City will pay for the WSI Certification. Must be able to communicate and relate to and work with participants. Must be responsible for checking participants in and out and teach swimming lessons from Level 1-6. Work hours will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. May be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions. Special Requirements Graduation from High School or GED Certificate preferred. High School Students may be acceptable in some circumstances. Experience with Park & Recreation seasonal activities, preferred. Ability to work with necessary equipment to complete the tasks successfully. Miscellaneous Information Follows all applicable safety procedures, uses proper safety equipment. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present Parks & Recreation information to the public.
