About The Position

Army Navy Country Club is a prestigious private, member-owned institution with a history dating back to 1924. Spanning 488 acres across two campuses located in Arlington and Fairfax, Virginia, ANCC is committed to excellence in recreation, athletics, and member service. As part of the Aquatics Team, the Assistant Swim Coach plays a vital role in supporting the Club’s competitive swim program while fostering a positive, sportsmanlike, and team-oriented environment for all swimmers.

Requirements

Previous competitive swimming and/or coaching experience preferred
Ability to work effectively with children, parents, and fellow coaching staff
Strong communication and teamwork skills
CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard Certification (or ability to obtain prior to season)

Responsibilities

Support the overall swim team program as directed by the AGM, Aquatics, the Aquatics Committee, and the Head Swim Team Coach, including consistent communication and collaboration with coaching staff.
Promote and model sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and professionalism among all swimmers while upholding the pride and image of Army Navy Country Club.
Conduct all scheduled swim team practices and attend all swim meets throughout the Country Club Swimming and Diving Association (CCSDA) season.
Participate in swim team-related meetings and social events as mutually agreed upon, including pep rallies and the end-of-season awards banquet.
Under the supervision of the Head Swim Team Coach, assist with practice and meet preparation, including pool setup and takedown as needed.
Wear proper attire in accordance with ANCC policies during practices, meets, clinics, and lessons. ANCC-issued coach shirts are required at all swim team events and meets.
Collaborate with the coaching staff to identify candidates for individual swimming awards throughout the season and provide recommendations to the Aquatics Committee.
Provide Group, Semi-Private, and One-on-One swim lessons to ANCC members as opportunities are advertised through the Aquatics Office.
