About The Position

The Swim Team Coach is responsible for running practices for assigned age group, creating line ups for the scheduled swim meets and attending all practices and swim meets. Must communicate effectively & positively with public. The Swim Team Coach is responsible to the Swim Team Manager, Head Swim Team Coach, Aquatics Coordinator and Recreation Supervisor.

Requirements

Must be high school graduate or older
Demonstrate knowledge of competitive swimming
Have the ability to get along well with children and parents

Nice To Haves

CPR/AED and Ellis Lifeguard Certifications preferred

Responsibilities

Attend all staff meetings, practices and swim meets.
Arrive 15 minutes before the start of practice for set up, and be available for parent concerns or questions after practice.
Responsible for helping with set up and clean up of swim meets and practices.
Must have line ups for swim meets turned into the Manager at the designated time.
Prevent accidents or injuries by maintaining a safe environment.
Administer first aid if necessary, fill out and give reports to Swim Team Manager or Head Coach.
Be friendly and courteous to children and parents and keep parents aware of children’s progress.
Meet with other coaches, Head Coach and the Swim Team Manager on a regular basis.
Demonstrate knowledge of strokes and give corrective feedback to swimmers.
Obey the practical safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the safety program of the district.
Develop a thorough understanding of the district’s policies and operations and enforce them in a positive manner.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
