About The Position

We are hiring a Seasonal Swim Instructor to join our Aquatics team. The Swim Instructor will report to the Head Swim Instructor and will be responsible for providing all Members and guests with a safe, welcoming and educational lesson environment. This will be accomplished through conducting swim lessons in accordance with all safety and Club standards, conducting skills evaluations, and assuring all safety and Club policies are taught and enforced at the pool area.

Requirements

Current and valid Lifeguarding certifications preferred
Current and valid First Aid and CPR certifications preferred
Previous experience with Nationally recognized swim program
Must be 17 years of age or older
One year prior experience in a Swim Instructor role strongly preferred
Knowledge and use of aquatics equipment
Must maintain a friendly and encouraging attitude both during and outside of lessons
Must be comfortable working with children of different ages and skill levels in a professional manner.
Must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with fellow team members, management team, Members and guests
Ability to respond to Members in a timely fashion
Work schedule to include, afternoons, early evenings, weekends, and potentially holidays
Must present professional appearance and attitude at all times, maintaining a high level of member service
Must adhere to all WCC guidelines, policies and procedures
Must be able to work on site at Main Club location in Rye, NY
Working primarily in and around the Main Club’s indoor pool environment and all related designated Aquatics areas, with exposure to chlorine and other pool chemicals.

Responsibilities

Conduct swim lessons in accordance with all safety and Club standards
Ensure a safe and professional learning environment throughout lessons for all Members and guests
Conduct swimming and certification skills evaluations
Communicate and enforce pool rules and policies
Maintain a high level of visibility, ensuring availability to respond to Member and guest inquiries
Submit weekly member billing to Head Swim Instructor
