About The Position

Position Summary: Join the Cutting Edge at the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI)! The University of Dayton, a top-tier Catholic research university, is seeking a talented SW PDM Administrator to join our world-class research institute. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the product data management (PDM) system that supports our innovative research and development initiatives. The position will be focused on development, implementation, roll out, and management of SolidWorks Product Data Management (PDM) system. The candidate will work closely with group leads, team leads, engineers, and other users of the system to develop processes in alignment with business needs and procedure requirements. As well, this role is responsible for creating automations to gain efficiencies and reduce repetitive work for the users. This role will be responsible for creating procedures, work instructions, and training for the processes developed within PDM or in support of PDM. Finally, as the PDM admin, this role is responsible for providing timely support to users to ensure functionality of the system and smooth operations. Due to the nature of this role, great communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse group of users at various locations is a must. Minimum Qualifications: R2 level: 1. Bachelor of Science degree in computer science/engineering or related field 2. 5+ years’ experience with Dassault SolidWorks CAD software 3. 3+ years of experience working with SolidWorks PDM 4. 3+ years of experience as a SolidWorks PDM administrator to include development and maintenance of PDM architecture and workflow 5. Certified PDM Administrator Professional (CPAP) 6. 3+ years proven CAD training experience 7. Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) 8. Ability to make solid decisions and recommendations in a rapid-paced environment 9. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously 10. Ability to work on government contracts 11. Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen An R3 must meet all R2 minimum qualifications in addition to the qualifications listed below. R3 level: A bachelor's degree plus a minimum of six years of experience or a master's plus a minimum of five years of experience is required

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in computer science/engineering or related field

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS PDM APIs and programming of time-saving add-ins using C# and .NET
  • Experience with Macro programming in Excel
  • 3+ years’ experience in program/project management
  • Multi-site ownership CAD administration
  • Familiarity with AS or ISO certifications
  • Familiarity with US DoD drawing specifications
  • Previous experience managing a multi-site PDM system
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14
  • Familiarity with GD&T and drawing requirements
  • Familiarity with Model Based Definition
