About The Position

Partnering with the Senior Team, the SVP, Talent Management & Employee Relations will develop and execute best in class HR human capital solutions including organization design and effectiveness, succession planning, performance management, compensation reviews, talent acquisition, college relations recruiting, employee engagement, data analytics reporting, and merger and acquisitions to optimize business performance and ensure alignment with VyStar’s long-term objectives.. Providing advice and counsel regarding the people operations of the business, the implementation of standard methodologies and strategic initiatives related to human capital initiatives and programs, the SVP, Talent Management & Employee Relations will bring the organization together through thoughtful communication and diplomacy to ensure VyStar Credit Union’s values and cultural standards are upheld.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or business-related field. Formal education may be substituted with extensive work experience.
  • 10+ years of business and HR leadership within world-class multi-location organizations.
  • Experience in leading human resources at a high-growth, mid- to large-size, financial services organization.
  • Prior experience in coaching and developing a company’s CEO and senior leadership team, as well as in partnering with and influencing a company’s board of directors.
  • Strength in leading and developing senior leaders inside and outside HR
  • Prior experience in coaching and developing a company’s CEO and senior leadership team, as well as in partnering with and influencing a company’s board of directors.
  • The ability to become a trusted advisor to members of the executive team and the tools to drive the effectiveness of the top leaders.
  • Strong proven experience in leading change and the diversity and inclusion programs.
  • A strong mix of business skills, employee experience, program management and project management.
  • Expertise across a variety of human resources disciplines including but not limited to; talent management, organization design, performance management, leadership development, change management, leadership, talent acquisition, training, HRIS, and compensation and benefits.
  • Demonstrated accomplishment in meshing culture change initiatives with the strategic direction of the business.
  • Experience participating in corporate strategic planning and executing HR strategic planning.
  • Previous experience managing large budgets, working through RFP’s and vendor negotiations on behalf of the organization.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to coach, mentor and counsel team.
  • Ability to influence and persuade cross functional teams.
  • Microsoft Office, Word, Excel skills and using HRIS, Workday.

Responsibilities

  • Executive/strategic business partner to the CEO, CHRO and the Senior Leadership team, serving as trusted advisor to leaders and employees.
  • Assert leadership to drive alignment among HR and business leaders and exhibit managerial courage in bringing the right people together on the right topics needed to drive the business forward in a unified fashion.
  • Articulate business strategies through people, structure, capabilities, roles & responsibilities.
  • Align all the disciplines of HR, including compensation, benefits, internal communications, HRIS and HR Business Partners to deliver on an employee value proposition that supports the business strategy.
  • Streamline HR processes to enable organizational adoption and quality execution of the fundamentals.
  • Develop HR plans and strategies that support and communicate the achievement of the overall company business goals and objectives.
  • Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational management and business issues.
  • Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet VyStar Credit Unions hiring requirements in a timely manner.
  • Provide leadership in the critical area of recruitment by developing the most creative and cost-effective ways of generating high-quality candidates in the marketplace and getting them to our company.
  • Develop long-term relationships with organizations and individuals that will enhance the talent pipeline flow toward the company.
  • Consulting with the leadership team, understand and develop individualized succession planning processes to ensure the company has a comprehensive business continuity people plan and employee career development plan.
  • Collaborating with the Total Reward organization, support the implementation and execution of comprehensive compensation and benefit plans that are competitive and cost effective for the company.
  • Participates in job analyses to establish the specific requirements of individual jobs within each department for the creation of job descriptions.
  • Advise employee, management and potential employees on benefit programs including medical, dental, life, and disability insurance, supplemental medical, 401(k) plan, Paid Time Off (PTO).
  • Develop and maintain an objective employee relations process that ensures consistent experience for all employees that is aligned with VyStar Credit Union’s culture of belonging.
  • Lead investigations as needed to uncover and resolve concerns within the workplace.
  • Responsible for advising management to ensure company compliance with all federal, state and local laws related to employee benefits, compensation, employment and training.
  • Guide managers and employees in resolving employee relations and performance management issues by providing an effective procedure that enables coaching and effective conflict resolution.
  • Develop and deliver/rollout corporate messaging through various communication vehicles/tools that effectively articulate company strategy encouraging employee engagement and driving desired performance.
  • Act as an employee champion and change agent by anticipating HR-related needs and delivering value added services for the benefit of all employees.
  • Support VyStar Credit Union’s Student and College Program by developing long term relationships with the high schools, colleges and universities and building a recruiting process that will enable VyStar to hire interns, direct hires, and management development program participants.
  • Develop and lead the overall strategy for talent management processes including leading organization design and effectiveness efforts, succession planning, and management development programs.
  • Work with the Training and Development Department to develop a highly effective orientation program that emphasizes the critical importance and VyStar’s core values and welcoming and integrating new employees into the corporate culture (with emphasis on corporate culture, mission and company policies).
  • Work with the Training and Development Department to coordinate job training with supervisor to ensure beneficial starting experience for new employees.
  • Develop and implement key human resources metrics (KPIs) to drive performance and problem solving.
  • All employees and business units, as first line of defense, are expected to proactively help identify, assess, manage, and report risks within their domain of work.
  • To enhance a healthy risk culture and support our growth for good pillar, employees will maintain vigilance in safeguarding our operations while ensuring compliance with regulatory mandates.
  • The Risk team serves as the second line of defense by providing risk oversight and credible challenge whereas the Audit team serves as the third line of defense by providing risk assurance.
