About The Position

Summer 2026 Sustainment Engineering Intern Opportunity in Orlando, FL. The intern will engage in support activities for day-to-day USG supply chain management, Depot logistics and shipping activities. Candidate should be able to interface effectively with multiple functional groups including: production, planning, engineering, quality, contracts/subcontracts, and other logistics and support personnel to achieve completion of depot operations and commitment to the customer. Specific Job Description The Sustainment Engineer candidate will be required to analyze Apache Fire Control (AFC) technical data to determine repair trends, retrograde workload disbursement, prioritization, and support depot(s) requirements/needs. Functions as the Depot Operations interface between multiple disciplines (including Field Depots), Engineering, and Financial teams in support of program execution requirements. Selected individual will assist in maintaining and coordinating various Product Support activities and functions in support of multiple contracts for domestic and foreign customers. Specific responsibilities and tasks may also include multiple aspects of the repair cycle, providing up to date repair metrics and status to Program Management, as well as providing input to management on decisions relating to workload distribution and repair prioritization among the depots, addressing potential expansion of repair capabilities, and streamlining of processes through developed efficiencies. Additionally, the candidate will coordinate and track Acts of Government, and Combat Battle Damage activities as required with finance, contracts, and field personnel, and supporting the program during various reviews with performance related metrics. Support of various inventory and other general site audits may be required. The candidate will perform data research and chart development in support of presentations to Senior and Executive Program Management and Customer. The candidate should be creative, analytical, process-oriented, and appreciates the challenge of clarifying ambiguity. A successful candidate will have efficient and effective communication skills to support the development and delivery of reports, program directives, engineering change requests, and presentations.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an engineering or sustainment bachelors degree program or similar discipline
  • Good written and oral Communication Skills
  • Problem Solving Skills
  • Self-starter able to perform tasks with minimal supervision
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word)
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Solid background in Depot Operations, Repair Management, and Supply Chain with trend analysis experience
  • TABLEAU working knowledge
  • Strong Excel background
  • Familiarity with Army regulations and Army Supply
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional IPT environment
  • Experience using SAP client applications
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and modeling tools and techniques
  • Ability to interface with a variety of information technology applications to create purchase requirements and to extract data
  • Ability to review data and statuses and derive trends
  • Ability to prepare and accomplish presentations
