Become a part of the “strength within.” Hexcel is currently seeking a Sustainability Summer Intern for our Stamford, CT Location. This role offers hands on experience with environmental data, sustainability governance and reporting, and real-world ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) projects.

Requirements

  • Current college junior, senior, or master’s student pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field
  • 3.0 GPA
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage tasks independently
  • A positive, proactive attitude with the ability to collaborate effectively and build strong relationships with team members and cross‑functional colleagues
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Excel (spreadsheets and data sets)
  • Eligible candidates must be a: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with greenhouse gas accounting concepts or exposure to the GHG Protocol
  • Academic exposure to or interest in sustainability reporting frameworks such as CSRD, GRI, SASB, TCFD, or ESRS
  • Demonstrated research & analytical skills, with the ability to summarize findings clearly and effectively
  • Proven project management experience, including defining scope, establishing timelines and deadlines, and communicating and managing progress.

Responsibilities

  • Collecting and organizing supply chain data to support our Scope 3 greenhouse gas inventory
  • Assisting with preparation of our annual CDP Climate Change questionnaire, including gathering information and drafting supporting content
  • Supporting updates to our Double Materiality Assessment and helping our sustainability and legal teams prepare for upcoming sustainability regulations
  • Drafting or editing early-stage sustainability narratives and documentation
  • Contributing to sustainability communications, including website updates, internal messaging, and training materials
  • Creating basic charts, visuals, or dashboards to help communicate information across the organization
  • Researching trends, peer initiatives, and market best practices
  • Assisting with general sustainability reporting tasks and ad‑hoc team projects
