The ideal candidate must be pursuing a degree in Architecture, Engineering, Energy, Environmental Science, Planning, Urban Design, or a closely related field and be a team-oriented, highly motivated individual seeking progressively more responsible assignments on a variety of projects.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Architecture, Engineering, Energy, Environmental Science, Planning, Urban Design, or a closely related field (master’s degree preferred)
  • Strong interest in sustainable design, climate action, building performance, and material health
  • Awareness of key sustainability and resilience concepts including climate change, energy efficiency, daylight availability, water conservation, low carbon materials, and renewable energy.
  • Familiarity with performance analysis including but not limited to daylight, energy, solar, and climate assessments and embodied carbon /lifecycle analysis.
  • Familiarity with green building rating systems.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with careful attention to detail
  • Demonstrated proactive, positive approach to problem solving

  • Ability to work efficiently within diverse, interdisciplinary project teams
  • Strengths in conceptual thinking and technical execution

  • This position is designated as full-time on-site and requires the employee to be physically present at the assigned office location Monday through Friday during standard business hours. Regular, reliable on-site attendance is an essential function of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Support design teams in developing sustainability strategies with project goals – including pathways for LEED, WELL, ILFI, and other third-party certifications
  • Assist Project Managers throughout all phases of LEED projects, including project registration, credit documentation, submittals, and responses to review comments
  • Participate in design reviews and compile sustainability compliance reports and follow-up task lists
  • Support sustainable design analytics including daylight and radiation modeling
  • Assist with the creation of environmental graphics and visual communication of analysis findings.
  • Help refine and develop internal tools, templates, and workflows that enhance sustainable design processes
  • Conduct healthy materials and sustainable product research, including vetting against environmental and human-health criteria.
  • Assist in materials research and compiling information for whole building Life Cycle Analysis measuring embodied carbon and optioning alternatives.
  • Provide research and insights on emerging sustainable design strategies, climate-responsive technologies, and carbon reduction approaches
  • Provide research and guidance on Federal, state and local regulations and incentives.
