Our Sustainability & Resilience practice collaborates with clients and project partners to integrate successful green solutions into the planning, design, construction, and operation of buildings, reducing their environmental impact at every stage of their life cycle. Our experienced team offers sustainable design strategies, energy analysis, green building certification consulting, sustainability analysis, and upgrades for existing structures, along with education and training. The Role The candidate fully embraces the integrative design approach to high performance, resilient, green buildings. Candidates must be analytical with the ability to understand and articulate how details fit together in the big picture. The ideal candidate will also have excellent oral and written communication skills and enjoy working with diverse project teams and building owners.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in sustainability consulting, building science, engineering, or other related fields
  • At a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree and a LEED Green Associate credential or LEED Accredited Professional or ability to obtain credential within six months of employment
  • Experience with third party certifications such as LEED, WELL, Passive House, Living Building Challenge
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal codes
  • Team oriented and the ability to work independently, proactive in engagement with consulting work
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills
  • Technical knowledge in the building industry and ability to navigate all aspects of construction documentation
  • Willingness to learn
  • Ability to travel

Responsibilities

  • Primary focus on California and West Coast architects and developers with the ability to collaborate on projects across the country and around the globe as the opportunities arise with our clients.
  • Participate in and support the development of practice wide sustainability services.
  • Support projects in Sustainability, Resilience and/or carbon optimization.
  • Collaborate and support sustainable strategies and carbon optimization services to architects and owners/developers; this may include a basic understanding of Carbon Life-Cycle Analysis, water budgeting, materials research, or planning
  • Perform and/or support certification work on projects of all scale: LEED, WELL, fitwel, Passive House, Living Building Challenge, Envision
  • Perform and/or support local code work on projects, including CALGreen, Title 24
  • Support synergies with other TT Practices: Structure, Facade, Renewal, Applied Science, Protective Design, and Transportation.
  • Support synergies with CORE Group.
