About The Position

Position is located in Greeley, Colorado. Residency requirements apply. May be hired as a Survey Technician or Sr Survey Technician based on qualifications, skills, and experience. Hourly pay rate: $33 - $36.75 annual bonus opportunity Posting date: 12/18/2025 Closing date: 1/2/2026 THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT ATTEMPT TO LIST ALL OF THE DUTIES THAT ARE OR MAY BE PERFORMED IN THIS POSITION Primary Duties 1. Performs the fundamental tasks associated with leak survey, including tasks required to complete leak surveys and line patrolling on transmission and distribution systems utilizing traditional and advanced leak detection equipment. 2. Participates in regulatory audits with other work groups as needed. 3. Performs code compliance leakage activities. 4. Identifies deficiencies and creates work orders. 5. Identifies mapping discrepancies and takes corrective action to resolve the situation. 6. Performs activities to ensure responsiveness to natural gas and other emergencies. 7. Completes and maintains accurate records and reports to comply with Company and regulatory requirements. OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. May be required to hold stand-by duty, work shifts, holidays, weekends, emergency call outs, and occasional extensive hours. 2. Is subject to reporting outside regular work area. 3. Identifies, addresses, and reports safety and encroachment issues to their resolution and completion. 4. Is responsible for the safe operation and inspection of assigned Company vehicles and equipment. 5. Demonstrates support for and adheres to the Company’s values, strategies, policies and procedures and exhibits the core values of AtmoSpirit, Customer Service, Safety and the Company’s Code of Conduct both as an individual contributor, team member and/or leader of others. 6. Must become familiar with the contents of the Safety Manual, live by the spirit of its intent and become involved in creating and maintaining a safe working environment. Must complete all required safety training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and three years' experience in natural gas survey and/or corrosion activities, service, construction and maintenance, and/or pipeline operations; or equivalent.
  • While at this level, completes assigned classes, Operator Qualifications (OQ) and OJT specific to Compliance Survey Learning Path.
  • Must obtain and maintain any other required OQs and classroom training or certifications.
  • Requires valid driver's license in accordance with Company standards.
  • Records management system experience preferred.
  • Requires ability to utilize the Company's internet/intranet web site and available resources for data entry, reference and/or retrieval tasks.
  • Requires the ability to communicate with internal/external customers to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information.
  • Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
  • Requires the acute sense of sight and hearing (corrected or uncorrected) and strong sense of smell.
  • Requires extensive walking on a daily basis.
  • Ability to repetitively lift and forcefully push a 15-pound probe into the ground at a contact point of 52 inches. (Ex: operating probe bar)
  • Ability to repetitively generate 142-foot pounds of force at a contact point of 55 inches. (Ex: operating probe bar)
  • Ability to lift 53 pounds from the ground to 52 inches. (Ex: lifting and operating fire extinguisher)
  • Ability to generate 81-foot pounds of force at a contact point of 70 inches. (Ex: securing fittings)
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and/or crouch.
  • Ability to walk a distance of 500 feet.
  • As a Safety-Sensitive position, pre and post employment screenings, including but not limited to drug testing as outlined by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), and motor vehicle record (MVR) background checks are required.
