About The Position

Clymer Farner Barley (CFB) is expanding and seeking a Survey Technician II for our Middleton office. In this role, you’ll collaborate with surveyors, project managers, and engineers to produce precise CAD drawings and survey data for land surveying and utility mapping projects across Florida. With over 30 years of experience, CFB’s Surveying team specializes in boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, and utility mapping for residential and commercial developments. We are committed to delivering precision, efficiency, and innovative solutions to meet our clients’ needs. As a Survey Technician II (mid-level), you will: Process and reduce survey data into coordinates and utility line work using CAD software Review and validate CAD files, field notes, and utility records for accuracy and consistency Produce detailed plan/profile drawings, topographic surveys, and boundary/roadway files Manage utility records and conduct research to ensure compliance with industry standards Mentor and provide guidance to junior survey technicians, helping them build technical skills and improve their work processes Collaborate with our Professional Surveyors and Project Managers to deliver high-quality surveying solutions

Requirements

  • Associate degree or certificate in Surveying, Drafting, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience with proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred (Bentley MicroStation and Trimble Business Center experience a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of land surveying principles, utility mapping, and Florida surveying standards
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling and drafting
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bentley MicroStation experience a plus
  • Trimble Business Center experience a plus
