About The Position

Lamp Rynearson, a respected engineering, land planning, and land surveying firm—is seeking a Survey Department Manager or an experienced Survey Project Manager to lead our established surveying team in Kansas City. This role offers the chance to showcase your expertise while continuing to grow a strong, well-supported survey group. Key responsibilities include leading and coordinating the survey team to deliver projects within technical, budget, and schedule expectations; reviewing work for regulatory and company compliance; preparing estimates and project plans; maintaining communication with internal and external clients; collaborating with other disciplines; and supporting marketing efforts. Requirements

  • Licensed Land Surveyor in the State of Missouri; or ability to obtain within one year
  • Licensed Land Surveyor in the State of Kansas or ability to obtain within one year
  • Strong understanding of mathematics and survey computations
  • Strong knowledge of surveying principles, practices and QA/QC processes
  • Experience with modern survey equipment
  • Good understanding of engineering, design and construction practices
  • Ability to efficiently perform, direct and/or manage multiple types of surveys
  • Strong knowledge of local, state and federal regulations
  • Ability to think independently
  • Ability to work well with, coach and direct others
  • Ability to establish and maintain client relationships
  • Ability to handle and coordinate multiple tasks while dealing with a variety of variables

Nice To Haves

  • Licensure in adjacent states
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Civil3D
  • Experience creating/preparing legal descriptions
  • Experience performing ALTA surveys:
  • Experience creating subdivision plats:
  • Desire to explore and develop new technologies
  • Photogrammetry experience
  • Scanning experience
