About The Position

STV’s Kentucky operation is seeking to immediately hire a Survey Party Chief for our Glasgow, KY location. This position entails leading a two- or three-person surveyor field crew to accurately and efficiently perform field surveys in support of land development, transportation, utility, energy, and land surveying projects using conventional, GPS, or terrestrial laser scanning methodology.

Requirements

  • 2 plus years of experience as a Party Chief required
  • Must have familiarity with ALTA or Land Title Surveys – must understand how to locate improvements on land and finding property corners, including interpreting deed maps and plats
  • Experience with Topographic Surveys – must be able to interpret and locate elevation changes on the land, identifying specific utilities needed, identifying tree types, and understanding what the civil engineer will need in their design build
  • Experience with Construction Staking – must understand the flow of construction and the staking layout of offsets. Must know how to run bench loops and calculate grades, as well as interpret stakeout sheets and civil engineering construction plans
  • Must have experience with robotic instruments and GPS experience
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and strong ability to ensure accuracy
  • Ability and willingness to follow instructions that may be written or delivered verbally
  • Must be dependable and responsible regarding punctuality and attendance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with type of field equipment – use of Trimble is a plus
  • Civil 3D or Carlson CADD experience is a plus
  • Drone use of is a plus
