Our Survey Practice in Georgia is looking to bring on a Party Chief to support our local projects. This person ideally will have previous land survey party chief experience with the ability to manage field crews and completing typical land surveying projects. Reporting to our Land Survey Manager, this person will be responsible for: Supervision of the 2-3 person field survey crew on job sites Maintaing and keeping field notes, and verifying that field notes and sketches are download data into computers each night Communication with office staff, training of subordinates, operating robotic instrument, total station, data collector, GPS (fast static, RTK and VRS), and autolevel Participate in monthly safety meetings, help identify potential safety hazards and create a corrective action plan when safety hazards are recognized Willing to work evenings/weekends when required and to travel for overnight and extended stay projects as required Select and implement proper maintenance of traffic signage and follow safety precautions Target candidate may be required to operate and maintain survey truck and related equipment safely and efficiently. Perform other duties as assigned by survey manager The ideal candidate will posses: 4+ years of survey field experience using numerous types of survey instruments (GPS, Robotic total stations, data collectors, digital levels, etc.) Prior experience working with Trimble data collection software a plus Prior experience working on DOT survey and SUE projects a plus Hold a valid current driver’s license Ability to follow instructions, and train and mentor crews with a positive can-do attitude are necessities Leadership and mentoring skills Ability to lift 50 pounds, walk for extended periods, work in all weather conditions
