About The Position

Colony Ridge Development LLC is seeking a Survey Party Chief to join our Land Development team in our New Caney, TX office. Colony Ridge has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals, dedicated to providing high-level professional services for all phases of our developments. We are currently developing and building a large community in Liberty County requiring professional services in such categories as residential land development, commercial and industrial land development, s treets and other public works projects, parks, schools, regional survey control, and other items necessary to develop and build a large city/community. The Survey Party Chief is responsible for leading a field surveying team, ensuring accurate data collection using various instruments and software.

Requirements

Possess a minimum of a High School Diploma.
Has a minimum of 4+ years of experience.

Nice To Haves

Proven experience as a Survey Party Chief or similar role in civil construction.
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of survey computations, field operations, plan interpretation, and standard office procedures.
Experience with a variety of survey instruments and technologies, such as total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
Strong understanding of survey principles and technical standards.
Knowledge of relevant software, including CAD programs and other surveying software.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and problem-solve in the field.

Responsibilities

Direct and coordinate the activities of a survey field crew, providing guidance and training to junior technicians.
Oversee and conduct construction staking, boundary surveys, control network establishment, GPS surveys, and as-built surveys.
Set up and operate surveying instruments like total stations and GPS receivers.
Collect and record field data accurately using data collectors.
Perform mathematical calculations and ensure proper reduction of field notes.
Maintain organized records of field notes, sketches, and data files.
Ensure survey equipment is in proper working condition through regular inspection and calibration.
Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to protect the survey team and other workers on-site.
Coordinate survey activities with project managers, engineers, clients, and contractors.
Prepare and review survey reports, maps, and drawings for project documentation and client presentation.
