About The Position

The Charlotte Office Leader is responsible for management and growth of Central North Carolina. The Office Leader is local and thrives in both operational execution and client relationship building. This is a highly visible role, critical to driving both the day-to-day performance of the office and our continued reputation in the area. It's an excellent position to build a prolific career with one of the most respected firms in the industry, while building your own team of professionals. The leader of this office will have support from existing Carolina Area offices and a backlog of work. This allows for immediate contribution to current projects while building the team and winning new business for the new location. Grow the SAM office in Charlotte NC. The position can be partially remote.

Requirements

  • Professional experience in the land survey or geospatial industry, with a focus on project management and leadership
  • Track record of winning and managing major projects
  • Experience in building and leading professional teams
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to present to clients and stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • A Professional Survey License or Engineering License is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Build a book of business in Central North Carolina.
  • Oversee all aspects of the Charlotte operations including staffing, budgets, and resource planning.
  • Collaborate with area leaders and project managers to execute a growth strategy tailored to the local markets.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team across the Survey, SUE, Utility Coordination, and Fiber Engineering service lines, including technicians and licensed professionals.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, both existing and prospective, ensuring exceptional service, communication, and long-term relationships.
  • Partner with business development staff and service leads to pursue new market opportunities, respond to proposals, and help drive year-over-year revenue growth.
  • Monitor project performance, QA/QC, client satisfaction, and safety standards, ensuring that operational excellence remains a top priority.
  • Promote and maintain a culture that supports retention, employee development, and high engagement across all roles.
  • Coordinate with the area operations manager and other SAM offices within the Southeast region to share resources and go after work.
