We have an exciting opportunity to join our team in Tampa as a Survey CAD Technician I Job Summary: The Survey CAD Technician I supports the Survey department with the production of maps and drawings, ensuring quality of work by verifying its accuracy, thoroughness, and clarity prior to submission. The Survey CAD Technician I is responsible for meeting project deadlines and ensuring the budget is aligned. The Survey CAD Technician I remains responsive to clients and ensures proper communication with the project team.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • AutoCAD Civil training/education certificate.
  • This is an entry-level role, however, previous experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2018, processing survey computation, C&G, Trimble, data processing, GPS, boundary, surveys, ALTA/ACSM land title surveys, topographic surveys, utility route surveys, and construction staking is required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to balance multiple work assignments on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability to work alone but also effectively as part of a team.
  • Process-oriented thinking with strong organizational and technical skills.
  • Excellent communication, and the ability to take and understand directives.
  • The ability to complete work consistently, with moderate flexibility to accommodate varying project demands.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record as determined by McKim & Creed.
  • Required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Proficient technical skills: behavioral traits of process oriented, steady, helpful, analytical, problem solver, likes to work alone when required, methodical, consistent, detail oriented, precise, hates mistakes, likes structure.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, an acceptable motor vehicle report and cleared criminal background check and a negative drug test result.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in CAD or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2018, processing survey computation, Carlson, C&G, Trimble, Data processing, GPS, boundary, surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title surveys, topographic surveys, utility route surveys and construction staking.
  • Proficient in Microstation, primary drafting software.
  • Working Knowledge of AutoCAD C3D.
  • Previous use of Inroads and Openroads, main software for mapping projects.
  • Strong plus using Trimble Business Center.
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Motivated to learn and develop your career path.

  • Strong plus experience reducing field data in Microstation Inroads or Openroads.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting the Survey department with the production of maps and drawings.
  • Coordinate the production of maps and drawings to cover all details so that the quality is present, and budgets and schedules are met.
  • Responsible for downloading/uploading field data, technical production of maps and drawings using various software platforms, communicating with project team.
  • Performing property research both online and in the courthouse as needed.
  • On occasion, fieldwork may be required. Those duties would include observation of sitework.
  • 40-hour work weeks with potential overtime.
