GFY is seeking a Survey CAD Technician who is interested in being a part of an influential work environment. This position will primarily involve creating detailed survey drawings and deliverables, as well as related maps, utilizing current versions of AutoCAD with Civil 3D.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and understand maps, legal descriptions, deeds and construction plans
  • Team player who is self-motivated but can work independently as needed
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task on multiple assigned projects
  • Experience with land surveying projects including preparation of survey plats, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, sketch and descriptions, etc.
  • Strong technical and mathematical skills;
  • Must be familiar with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to draft parcels, or subdivision boundaries from legal descriptions using CAD techniques
  • Maintains average skills in the use of AutoCAD or related software
  • Drafts detailed drawings of structures and installations such as roads, culverts, sewage disposal systems, dikes, and breakwaters
  • Assists in the analysis of reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs to plan and design projects
  • Performs drafting of portions of routine projects under direction of project surveyor
  • Understands surveying terminology and can operate surveying equipment including total stations, transit and levels
  • Prepares a variety of survey products
  • Adheres to AutoCAD standards manual
