About The Position

The Surveillance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the Happy Valley Casino’s physical and intellectual assets are protected through constant observation of all casino areas; ensuring compliance with gaming requirements set by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board and local law enforcement. Responsible for the daily operation of Surveillance including leading and training the Surveillance department operations to ensure the safety of guests, employees and the physical assets of the complex.

Requirements

  • Must be able to be approved and maintain licensure as required by Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Minimum of five (5) years related experience in Surveillance/Security/Law Enforcement and/or training in a high-volume complex casino environment or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational and leadership qualities, interpersonal skills and dedicated commitment to excellence.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of approved Responsible Gambling Program. Must have a thorough knowledge of applicable Federal and State Law, as well as Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft suit programs.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, and use hand and finger movements for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing essential functions of the job.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • You must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to climb and safely work from ladders and lifts.
  • Must be able to safely operate all hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors performance of subordinates, ensuring adherence to casino policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that all personnel are properly trained and maintain a high level of proficiency.
  • Responsible for safety of person(s), safeguarding of assets, protecting the property, patrons and the slot machine licensee from illegal activity.
  • Ensure optimum delivery of surveillance services, balancing a pragmatic approach with the need to consistently deliver services to a standard of excellence.
  • Protect casinos through observation tactics to prevent security breaches and safety hazards.
  • Oversee a closed-circuit television system to monitor gaming, money-handling activity and procedure compliance.
  • Assist in the investigation of internal and external casino guest and employee security incidents during shift.
  • Work closely with security to ensure prompt response to emergency situations, security problems and disturbances.
  • Lead surveillance team to watch over gaming floor areas efficiently and effectively.
  • Know current list of undesirables and cheats maintained by the Security Department.
  • Liaise with Local Law Enforcement and all Pennsylvania State Police and Gaming Control Board teams.
  • Execute surveillance concepts, practices, and procedures following HVC standards.
  • Observe and report suspicious activities and person(s) immediately.
  • Provide written oral court testimony as needed.
  • Review and maintain Daily Activity Logs and Incident Reports.
  • Adherent to surveillance policies and procedures ensuring the highest level of safety.
  • Uphold the highest standards of courtesy and conduct exceeding expectations.
  • Total compliance with HVC’s standards.
  • Stay current on security/surveillance best practices and industry trends
  • Responsible for the performance of duties required under the casino’s system of internal controls.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the Surveillance Dept. Maintains a strong working relationship with local and state law enforcement members.
  • Works closely with Security, Table Games, Slots, Cage and other departments to prevent the loss or damage of company assets.
  • Ensures that all incidents and illegal activities are properly investigated, documented and that proper notification of some is made to the appropriate authorities and company executives.
