Job Details Our Surgical Technologists will: Work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse in delivering safe and effective care to patients in the intraoperative period. Partner with an interdisciplinary team including, but not limited to, surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses (RN), and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction. Have knowledge of the procedures performed and anticipate the surgeon's needs, including providing instruments, sutures and supplies. Check that instrumentation and equipment are in working order. Maintain aseptic technique throughout set up and surgical intervention. Maintain and advocate for patient safety. Perform other tasks as assigned (checking outdates, stocking, rooms, picking cases, etc.). Perform counts according to hospital policy and initiate appropriate procedure for incorrect counts. Correctly handle and identify surgical specimens. Safely dispose of biohazardous material. Actively participate in room turnover between cases.

Requirements

  • Passion for Perioperative Services
  • 1-2+ Years of Operating Room (OR) experience preferred
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required
  • Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the Association of Surgical Technologists required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
