About The Position

A 500+ bed acute care hospital in Salem, VA is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist (CVOR) to join its Heart Center surgical team. This role is ideal for experienced surgical techs looking to work in a collaborative cardiovascular operating room environment with access to advanced surgical technology and a wide range of procedures.

Requirements

Completion of a Surgical Technology program required (or grandfathered by the State of VA)
Surgical Technician license in the State of Virginia required
BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
1–2 years of hospital or scrub tech experience preferred
Computer literacy and familiarity with surgical instrumentation required
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform frequent physical activity

Responsibilities

Prepare the CVOR surgical environment, instruments, and equipment
Assist the surgical team by scrubbing in for C-sections and cardiovascular cases
Perform infant testing and directed patient care tasks under RN supervision
Register and pre-register obstetric patients
Ensure proper documentation and equipment maintenance
Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology and clinical communication
Maintain a clean and safe surgical environment
