About The Position

The Surgical Technologist prepares and maintains a sterile environment by following existing surgical standards, policies and procedures prior to the physician performing surgical procedures.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program required
• Current certification (or certification eligible) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is required.
• If hired prior to receiving certification, the employee must take and pass the certification exam during the first year of employment.
• Continued employment as a Surgical Technologist is contingent on the employee passing the certification exam.
• Re-certification with the NBSTSA must be maintained throughout employment at Crouse Hospital.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
