Fairview has an immediate opening for a Surgical Technologist for the Operating Room at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - West Bank and M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital locations in Minneapolis, MN. This position offers a $7500 sign-on bonus and a generous relocation bonus up to $5,000! This is a 0.8 FTE (64 hours per two week pay period), benefits-eligible opening on night shift (11PM - 7AM), no weekends, optional call, rotating holidays. As a Surgical Technologist, you’ll assist in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, arranging, and passing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring a sterile environment under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting the surgical team and maintaining the safety and efficiency of the operating room. About our OR at UMMC West Bank: We are a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Minnesota and in turn has students, residents, fellows placed in this OR daily. The West Bank has 15 operating rooms, 1 EP Lab, and 1 Cath Lab. We are performing an average of 36 cases per day. High Volume Ortho/Spine/Oral (mainly adults), Peds CV-Hearts/Cardio Thoracic Peds, Neuro/Generals/Urology/Bariatrics, Peds Transplant, Adult Urology, Benign GYN, ENT/Eye/Plastics, Peds Dental, Robotic DaVinci. We provide innovative surgical suites for adult and pediatric patients needing surgical intervention. We are currently renovating additional ORs to complement the existing 4 larger ORs, as well as creating new locker room and OR storage space. Our strong team is continuing to grow even stronger as we offer cross service training under the guidance of our scrub tech supervisor and scrub tech educator. Performs the functions of a surgical technologist as a scrub person during surgical procedures providing patient care services appropriate to the age of the patients (ages pediatric through geriatric) served during the shift of duty in collaboration with the RN. Is responsible for adhering to standards of nursing practice and patient care, correct use of supplies/equipment and maintenance of the surgical suite under the direction of an RN.
