Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech : Provides patient care under the direct supervision of the Physician and the Registered Nurse. Responsible for selecting, assembling, testing, and operating equipment and instruments in accordance with policies and procedures. Perform as a primary scrub person handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure while applying principles of sterile technique. Contribute to expected patient outcomes in accordance with policies, procedures, established standards, and administrative policies. Surgical Technologist position requires call with a 20-minute response time.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology Training Program.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Surgical Technologist position requires call with a 20-minute response time.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of Surgical Tech experience preferred
  • Certified through the NBSTSA or NCCT
