Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
  • Possess an accredited Surgical Technologist Certification or be willing and eligible to obtain it within the first year of employment.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • At least two years of Surgical Tech experience within the Robotic Service Line.

Responsibilities

  • The Lead Surgical Tech is responsible for assisting the physician in the direct care of patients in the operating room environment with primary focus in the robotics service line.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the robotic service line with regard to principles and knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, supplies and technical skills.
  • Follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and Hillcrest Hospital South.
  • Participate in safety instructional programs.
  • Adhere to the Association of Surgical Technologists and Association of Operating Room Nurses guidelines.
  • Handles the instruments and supplies necessary during the surgical procedure.
  • Ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure.
  • Assist with the training new surgical techs as needed.
  • Assist in cleaning, stocking and updating surgeon supply/equipment preference within the service line.
