Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech: The Obstetric (OB) Surgical Technologist provides patient care under the direct supervision of the Physician and the Registered Nurse. Demonstrate responsibility and accountability in selecting, assembling, testing, and operating equipment and instruments by policies and procedures. Perform as a primary scrub tech handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures and deliveries while applying principles of sterile technique. Performs sterile table and room turnover following the procedure. Perform additional patient care assigned by the RN. Contribute to expected patient outcomes by policies, procedures, established standards, and administrative policies. Respond to on-call obligations with a 30-minute response time.
Requirements
- Accredited Surgical Technology Training Program
- Basic Life Support certification

- NBSTSA Certified Surgical Tech
- One year Labor and Delivery Surgical Tech experience
