About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to join our surgical team in Oregon City. In this role, you will work alongside experienced healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care during open heart and general surgical procedures. This position offers the opportunity to develop expertise in cardiovascular surgery while maintaining the highest standards of surgical excellence and patient safety.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at time of hire
  • Valid Surgical Technologist Certificate at time of hire
  • Demonstrated experience in open heart/cardiovascular surgery
  • Proficiency in cardiovascular surgical instrumentation and setup
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile field management
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of population-based and culturally sensitive care practices

Nice To Haves

  • 2-5 years of scrubbing experience in a variety of surgical procedures in inpatient or ambulatory OR settings (preferred)
  • CVOR (Certified Cardiovascular OR) certification or experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Perform scrub role duties during surgical procedures, maintaining strict aseptic technique throughout all operations
  • Participate in accurate pre-operative briefings and time-out procedures to ensure patient safety
  • Plan and execute appropriate surgical setups based on procedure type and surgeon preferences
  • Maintain a sterile field at all times, properly evaluating and handling sterile packs and supplies
  • Manage sterile core activities including case cart preparation, supply restocking, and inventory reordering
  • Coordinate room turnovers efficiently between cases
  • Apply correct body mechanics principles when positioning and transferring patients
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to population-based and culturally sensitive care practices
  • Comply with all shift, unit, and organizational policies and procedures
