About The Position

Fairview Range is hiring a non-certified Surgical Technician for our Surgical Services team in Hibbing, MN.
As a Surgical Technician, you will provide perioperative care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse. You will scrub and assist surgeons by handling instruments during procedures, maintain aseptic technique, and maintain instruments and equipment for efficient functioning.
Schedule: This position will work 64 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 8-hours on the day shift. Weekdays and weekends on call.

Requirements

• Completion of a surgical technology program or surgical technologist training
• One (1) year of operating room or similar scrub experience
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) within 90 Days

Responsibilities

• Providing direct perioperative patient care with regard to the physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being of the patient
• Participating in collaboration with RN staff in gathering data to identify patient needs and surgeons' preferences.
• Demonstrating awareness of age-specific criteria in obtaining appropriate equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Assisting the RN in coordinating a plan of care based on prioritized patient needs related to types of surgical procedures and surgeon preferences.
• Understanding expected outcomes identified for the patient and works with the health care team in meeting these outcomes.
• Assisting RN, anesthesia personnel, and the surgeon in prompt identification of charges in patient condition.
• Assisting other staff members in updating information pertinent to surgical procedures and surgeon preferences on an ongoing basis.
