About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of surgical instruments and operating room procedures.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain sterile environments.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle surgical equipment safely.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a surgical technician or in a related healthcare support role.
  • Completion of a surgical technology training program, even if not yet certified.
  • Familiarity with hospital safety standards and infection control guidelines.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes according to the specific procedure requirements.
  • Assist surgical staff during operations by passing instruments and supplies in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control protocols throughout surgical procedures.
  • Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and stored after use.
  • Monitor and restock surgical supplies and equipment to ensure readiness for upcoming procedures.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to anticipate procedural needs and respond promptly.
  • Document surgical procedures and maintain accurate records of instrument usage and sterilization processes.
