Where you’ll go Primary territory: NYC, Manhattan, most of Long Island, and Northern New Jersey (as needed). Company vehicle for frequent day trips, plus periodic Monday–Friday travel with likely overnights. Some weekend work (not more than two weekends per month); hours flex to customer schedules; overtime is common but not guaranteed. Exposure to diverse projects across multiple hospital systems and, at times, other states. What you’ll tackle Coordinate with the Installation Project Manager to lock in dates aligned to deliveries and construction timelines. Confirm site readiness—rough-ins, utilities, and transport paths (doorways, elevators, corridors) match spec. Uncrate, assemble, position, level, connect utilities, and commission STERIS sterilizers, lights/booms, and related systems. Execute functional testing and capture all service documentation electronically. Leave it spotless: remove crates/packaging, wipe equipment, and address final customer questions. Must-haves HS diploma/GED and 5+ years recent mechanical experience in construction or HVAC install/repair; OR Associate’s in Electronics/Mechanical (or similar) plus 1+ year related mechanical experience. Ability to travel extensively and work flexible hours based on customer needs. Strong troubleshooting, Windows proficiency, and clear customer communication. Valid driver’s license; clean driving record. Nice-to-haves Plumbing and electrical experience (strongly preferred). Commercial plumbing and pipefitting background. Electrical schematic and blueprint reading. Machine building/assembly experience. OSHA 10-Hour certification.
