The Surgery Center is equipped with the latest surgical and monitoring tools, allowing caregiver to perform a diverse array of procedures in general, orthopaedic, eye, gynecologic, head and neck, oral and maxillofacial, podiatric, urologic and vascular surgery. As a Surgical Services Support Technician, you will help create a safe and sterile environment for surgical operations and other procedures. You will be exposed to the latest technologies, offering a unique opportunity to gain invaluable medical knowledge through hands-on experience. A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM - 4:30PM or 7:30AM - 4:00PM.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within new hire period
One year of customer service experience AND experience working in a team environment

Responsibilities

Safely transport patients to designated areas per nursing requests.
Assist nursing caregivers during surgical cases as requested.
Maintain and control support services equipment and supplies.
Maintain the OR in an aesthetically safe and sanitary condition.
Escort and direct customers to the appropriate source for assistance.
Provide a safe environment for patients and their families.
Enter job tasks into electronic computer software systems.
Assist in prepping and shaving patients for surgery.
Coordinate and maintain uniform room activities, such as locker assignments and scrubs.
Properly handle and dispose of hazardous waste.
Comply with special cleaning requests for radioactive waste and infection control surgical cases.
