As a Surgical Services Support Technician, you will help create a safe and sterile environment for surgical operations and other procedures. You will be exposed to the latest technologies, offering a unique opportunity to gain invaluable medical knowledge through hands-on experience. A caregiver in this position works 11:00AM – 11:30PM or 11:00AM – 7:30PM, including a holiday and on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within new hire period
  • One year of customer service experience
  • Experience working in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport patients to designated areas per nursing requests.
  • Assist nursing caregivers during surgical cases as requested.
  • Maintain and control Support Services equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain the OR in an aesthetically safe and sanitary condition.
  • Escort and direct customers to the appropriate source for assistance.
  • Provide a safe environment for patients and their families.
  • Enter job tasks into electronic computer software systems.
  • Assist in prepping and shaving patients for surgery.
  • Coordinate and maintain Uniform Room activities, such as locker assignments and scrubs.
  • Properly handle and dispose of hazardous waste.
  • Comply with special cleaning requests for radioactive waste and infection control surgical cases.
