About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Director of Quality Resources, the Surgical Services Quality Manager, collaborates with members of the Surgical and Anesthesia departments to design, develop and implement tools for measuring and bench-marking organizational performance in the areas of clinical outcomes, external reporting, and compliance with local, state, and federal standards. The Surgical Services Quality Manager is responsible for the collection and submission of data to external surgical quality databases as assigned. Data capture is accomplished through high-quality clinical screening of surgical cases from multiple service lines. The Surgical Services Quality Manager, in collaboration with the Chief and Nursing Leadership for the Operating Room, is the third member of the surgical Triad team and works closely with members of the Surgical and Anesthesia departments to support the Chief in maintaining quality care within the acute care setting; the Surgical Services Quality Manager assists to integrate quality care across service lines through the tenets of the organization's Culture of Safety and care delivery model. This individual works with Service Chiefs to establish key metrics that will enhance surgical management and drive continuous improvements in patient outcomes, including reducing unexpected outcomes.
