Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology
  • AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification (required within 30 days of hire)
  • Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on patient safety

Nice To Haves

  • Surgical Technologist certification (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain sterile fields for surgical procedures
  • Set up, organize, and ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment
  • Anticipate surgeon needs during procedures and pass instruments accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain strict adherence to infection control and sterile processing standards
  • Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping under RN direction
  • Handle specimens according to facility protocols
  • Participate in room turnover and ensure proper instrument processing
  • Restock and maintain surgical supplies
  • Communicate effectively with the surgical team to promote safe, coordinated patient care
