Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology
- AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification (required within 30 days of hire)
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team-oriented mindset with a focus on patient safety
Nice To Haves
- Surgical Technologist certification (preferred but not required)
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Set up, organize, and ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment
- Anticipate surgeon needs during procedures and pass instruments accurately and efficiently
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control and sterile processing standards
- Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping under RN direction
- Handle specimens according to facility protocols
- Participate in room turnover and ensure proper instrument processing
- Restock and maintain surgical supplies
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to promote safe, coordinated patient care
