Surgical Technologist Scrub Tech
About The Position
At Destin Surgery Center, health and care are inseparable, with a mission to care for every patient and their family as if they were their own. The center utilizes technology for surgeons to perform procedures in specialty areas including ENT, General Surgery, Gastroenterology (GI), Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, and Spine. The Surgical Technologist/Scrub Tech is a full-time position responsible for scrubbing for surgical procedures and demonstrating competence as a member of the surgical team. This role involves maintaining a sterile field, preparing supplies, instruments, and equipment for procedures, and supporting the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center, including participation in quality improvement activities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certification as required by state and/or center
- Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
- Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
- Must excel in teamwork and possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, engage with patients, and coordinate with physicians
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred
